No need for takeout make it yourself

In the mood for some Chinese fried rice but the way your wallet is set up you have to pass? Lol no need you can make it yourself in the comforts of your own kitchen.

This fried recipe pairs with almost anything from sautéed veggies, chicken wings, some shrimp or just by itself. This recipe is full of protein and carbs lol.

The things needed for this recipe are as follows :

  1. 2 to 3 cups  cold cooked white rice over night better
  2. 1 tbs butter
  3. Half a cup soy sauce
  4. Tbs sesame oil
  5. Thai basil
  6. 1 cup frozen peas & carrots
  7. 2 eggs
  8. Salt (or adobo) & pepper (enough to taste)

A wok is perfect for this recipe but if you don’t have that a big frying pan will work just fine. Start with the heat medium add the butter to wok or pan let it melt a little then add cold rice to pot.

The key step in making the perfect fried rice is to get the rice crispy not burnt but not as soft as the original cooked state. So let the rice fry for about six minutes tossing often you’ll hear a little sizzle but don’t be alarmed that just means the rice is cooking the right way .

After cooking for about 6-8 min push the rice to one side of the pan and add the egg mixture

Let the eggs cook for about one minute then mix everything up with the rice and continue to cook. Next add the soy sauce & seasonings mixing it up so everything gets incorporated. Let the rice continue to fry for about 5 min then add in the frozen peas and carrots and continue to cook till veggies are cooked at this point you can also add any meat or seafood to your rice for that extra kick if desired.

Make sure to taste your rice before taking it off the stove to make sure it doesn’t need any extra soy sauce or salt ALWAYS TASTE YOUR FOOD BEFORE SERVING.

If everything taste great to your liking transfer to bowl and top with Thai basil for garnish and ENJOY
