What do you cook for a bunch of hungry people that is fast, easy & tasty? Salmon! Or basically any type of seafood will be perfect. Its usually always fast and simple to create.
On this snowy day up in the mountains with my family while Airbnb’ing I decided to whip up some blackened salmon.
The ingredients needed for this recipe are
- 1 lb of salmon
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- half tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- half a tsp ground cumin
- 1 packet of sazon
- 1 lemon
So let me get to the best part of the meal for me lol. The rental we were staying at had the most AMAZING kitchen and appliances totally to die for. They had “Miele” oven and stove top I’ve always seen that brand in magazines and basically drooled over wishing one day I’d have my own lol. So to cook on it was definitely a bonus and I also feel like my food came out better. I dreaded coming home to cook on my basic Ikea stove lol.
Lucky me I seasoned my salmon the night before while everyone was sleep and early in the morning I got to work!
Heated up that Miele stove top and used a cast iron pan (the one I mentioned previously in my steak blog post) added some olive oil to the pan and began to sear the salmon to get blackened color about 4-5 min per side.

After I got that perfect black consistency and the salmon was cooked all the way thru I transferred it to a service dish and added half a lemons juice to salmon accompanied by slices of lemon.
This dish is to die for I promise you that. And a great quick start before you can get to brunch!
I hope you guys enjoyed this recipe feel free to like or comment Thanks! 🙂
